Gilberto Colangelo did his undergraduate studies in Rome "La Sapienza" and his graduate studies in Rome Tor Vergata. After the PhD he held postdoc positions in Bern, INFN Frascati and Zürich University. In 2003 he obtained the Habilitation at the University of Zürich. In the same year he got an SNF Förderungsprofessur at the ITP of Bern University. Since 2006 he is here as full professor (successor of Peter Minkowski).

His main research interests are chiral perturbation theory with applications both to phenomenology and lattice, and the search for new physics in precision experiments at low energy.
